About

Waves of Mercy

by Bobby Beausoleil

wading in the water

drifting downstream

slipping in the darkness

sliding in between

hiding in dark pools

to escape the fools

and get away unseen

to get away clean

breaking the chains

that bind to the past

at last, at last

to be free from the pain

each lesson success earned

every page turned

with each lesson learned

we rise, we rise

like dolphins in disguise

to burst through the surface

and breathe in the fresh air

then plunging down under

deeper and deeper

deep into the mystery

of who we are

deep into the mystery

of what is real

searching out the truth

the TRUTH in all caps

a great shouty word

stretching up so tall

like a high ragged cliff

above some jagged rocks

where waves of mercy crash

splashing and laughing

in thunderous joy

launching foamy geysers

brightly to the sky

we fly, we fly

like arrows arcing high

higher and higher

then turning toward home

floating weightless in freefall

to lightly touch down

gently, gently

upon the peaceful sea

to lightly touch down

upon the peaceful sea
